PLN 06: How Tiny Moments Can Create BIG Change
Time to Read: 3 mins
It was one of those days.
The kind where my calendar was packed, my focus was scattered, and the thought of one more Zoom call felt like absolute torture.
I was really tempted to skip the meeting.
But thankfully, I didn’t.
I showed up. Camera on. Note pad ready.
And shortly into the call, someone shared something that brought unexpected clarity to a totally different challenge I’d been wrestling with.
It was the exact thing I needed to hear at that precise moment.

But it also made me realize...
So often, we think the shift we’re waiting for has to be BIG.
We think we need more clarity. Or a better plan.
But most of the time it starts with something much smaller… like simply showing up for the thing we almost skipped.
That Zoom meeting?
It sparked an idea that helped me approach a challenging client situation in a way I hadn’t considered before.
And to think I almost missed it!!! 🤦♀️
Here’s the catch with insights… they don’t announce themselves.
They sneak in quietly.
But if you’re paying attention, you’ll catch them when they do.
One of the hardest truths I’ve had to learn (and one I coach clients through regularly) is this:
You can be busy all day long and still not be moving forward.
It’s not about how much you’re doing.
It’s about what kind of action you’re taking — and whether that action is tied to something that actually matters.
That’s why small moments of clarity — like the one I had in that Zoom meeting — can become surprisingly powerful.
Because they help you shift from autopilot to intentional action.
But what you do with that insight matters.
And that’s where a little structure comes in.
Because the truth is... a moment of clarity isn't the same as a plan.
We’ve all had those flashes of insight — little aha moments where something suddenly clicks.
But insight without action is just a missed opportunity.
The real shift happens when you take that moment of clarity…
and do something intentional with it.
Not impulsively.
Not reactively.
But with just enough strategy to move the needle forward.
But this is the piece that often gets missed! Because, without a process, insight rarely leads to follow-through.
💡 Practionable Takeaway
If you’re feeling a wee bit stuck — like you’re doing a ton but not gaining any traction — here’s a question I use often in my own self-leadership practice:
👉 What’s one small action I could take this week that feels purposeful and not just productive?
It might be something you’ve been avoiding. Or something you haven’t even considered.
But chances are, there’s a next step already waiting for you. You might just need to pause long enough to see it.
And once you do?
That’s your cue to stop spinning… and start moving forward with intention.
